10 Hopes (or maybe prayers) for the 2010 NFL Season

Matt on 01 18, 2010

10.  I hope Chris Johnson’s production doesn’t fall off next year.  Too often we’ve seen a guy have a monster year, being the workhorse of a team, then see a major dropoff.  Just ask Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander, and LaDainian Tomlinson.

9.  I hope nobody signs Terrell Owens.   His one year, $6.5 million deal with Buffalo is over.  Now he’ll be looking for a new team.  Please, nobody step up to the plate.  Just ignore him.  Send his calls straight to voicemail.  Do whatever necessary.  Do not answer Drew Rosenhaus’ emails.

8.  I hope either Andy Reid or Donovan McNabb goes.  It isn’t working with those two.  They’re choke artists.  Try something new.  How about Kevin Kolb?

7.  I hope Ricky Williams continues to ball.  Good to see him playing well.  Keep the wildcat going.

6.  I hope the Texans make the playoffs next year.  Came so close this year.  Andre Johnson needs more publicity.

5.  I hope the Panthers cut Jake Delhomme.  Man, he stunk this year.  Let the Matt Moore era begin!

4.  I hope Kurt Warner keeps playing.  Don’t retire, Kurt.  You’re like the opposite Brett Favre.

3.  I hope Pete Carroll struggles in Seattle.  Mightily.  Coach and executive vice president?   No coach should be anything more than the coach.  That’s too much power.

2.  I hope Mike Shanahan succeeds in Washington.  He got screwed in Denver in the first place.

1.  I hope Brett Favre retires.  Enough said.
