I appreciate you addressing me personally. Frankly, the “what if” card just doesn’t work. Don’t single Memphis out concerning their road to the Elite 8, Final 4, or championship game and ignore other teams’ paths. Should you also discount Kansas’ victory in the National Championship game because of their road (Portland St, UNLV, Villanova, and Davidson)? (Let’s not talk about KU playing with ineligible players.) What about Florida in ’07 (Jackson St, & Purdue) or ’06 (South Alabama, Milwaukee, & Georgetown)? The list could go on and on. Nobody wins the NC by playing all powerhouses.

What’s it going to take…Memphis coming from the play-in game to win the championship? Whipping Michigan State, Texas, and UCLA last year was impressive…even to the Tiger faithful.

Why aren’t you stomping on Pitino for “barely beating” Siena? Or talking stupid about Izzo’s win (barely) over USC? Why not crack on K for barely beating Texas? Why aren’t you bashing Dino for the wet fart they cut against Cleveland State? Self only beat North Dakota State by 10, but why is there no outcry on your part? (a side note…KU is dirty. Don’t tell me they had no idea about Arthur’s transcript “issues.” If he was too stupid to pass high school, how’d he remain eligible at KU?) Jamie Dixon’s team has looked pitiful, but where’s your attack on him? You are a hypocrite and you’re using your disdain for Calipari to feed the hypocrisy.

Using your line of thinking, then 4 consecutive Sweet 16 appearances is no big deal…except the numbers don’t bear that out. 14 teams have been to 4 consecutive Sweet 16′s. 2 of those teams were Tigers from Memphis.

By the way, the Elite 8 appearances (after dominating CUSA) were obviously warranted. Simple logic demands that 1 seeds are among the top 4 teams in the country…likewise, 2 seeds are between 5 and 8. It seems to me that the selection committee has done a pretty good job in recent years with top seeds advancing (for the most part). If you don’t like Memphis being “rewarded” for dominating CUSA, fine…but their level of Tourny success has proven the committee right. Top seeds deserve the easier road. That’s the way the Tourny works. It’s always been that way.

Ask Tom Izzo if Memphis was a tough draw last year. Ask Rick Barnes about Memphis. Ask Gary Williams if he’d prefer not to have played the Tigers Saturday. See if Mark Few (also in the Sweet 16) was impressed with us on Feb 7.

Man your arguments are pretty feeble. The only answer to the numerous facts thrown at you is to recite easy paths to the NCAA and then when Memphis annihilated Michigan State and Texas in their home state. Also UCLA in th final four. Ohhhh… forgot to mention that one, it was because they had talent. What? You can’t have your cake and eat it to. How did you get this gig anyway. It sure wasn’t your basketball knowledge.
