Minnesota Vikings set 1 week deadline for Brett Favre – Minnesota nursing homes filling up quick, may not have room for Favre

on 06 9, 2009

The Minnesota Vikings have set a deadline of this week for prima donna Brett Favre to make his decision on whether or not he will be back for his 19th season to quarterback the Vikes. The NFL should have set a limit of how many times a player is allowed to retire and then un-retire.

With hopes of further damaging his legacy, Favre recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on his throwing shoulder in order to eradicate problems related to his torn biceps tendon. Clearly he plans on making another run at it. I’m almost certain the former face of the Green Bay Packers will reply to Brad Childress’ deadline with something along the lines of “Yes, I’ll be suiting up in purple and gold for my 19th season, let’s kick some Green Bay ass!”

Now with awesome shitty photoshop!

It’s pretty apparent Favre has had this planned out all along. He was/is extremely disappointed at the way the Packers front office handled his situation. The Packers refused to deal him to their NFC North rival last season, and GM Ted Thompson made sure the New York Jets wouldn’t deal him by including a clause in the trade agreement that Green Bay would receive three 1st round picks if he was traded to Minnesota.

Favre led the New York Jets to believe they were headed to the post-season, until he lost 4 of their last 5 games with 2 TDs and 9 interceptions. Injury or not, it looked like he didn’t care about the Jets and their playoff dreams. He was just using New York to get to Minnesota. Now that Favre has been released from the Jets, he has his opportunity to quarterback his former division rival and square off against the team and front office he felt he was mistreated by.

At this point, this whole Brett Favre situation is beyond ridiculous. I thought it was outlandish after last year’s escapade, but this guy just will not go away. As much as I want to see Favre stay retired and not hear about him again, it’s not going to happen. Favre has had this planned out for some time now. There is nothing he wants more than an opportunity to beat the Pack twice. In addition to the revenge #4 seeks, he believes the Vikings are a QB away from being legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

The guy really needs to hang his cleats up, go ride tractors and pop Vicodin, but it’s not going to happen, not this season. Expect Favre to come out of retirement once again and to see him suiting up in Viking purple for another season of his soap opera.
