NBA playoffs falling into place

The domination by the Lakers and Cavs and “upsetting” of the Celtics and Magic are exactly the types of performances spoken of in this authors last article. The Cavs 18 point victory thorough handling of Detroit at home showed their muscle, while the Lakers 22 point halftime lead allowed them to easily coast to victory in the second half.
The lack of Kevin Garnett proved vital in Derrick Rose’s surgery of the Celtic defense. The lack of a sufficient point guard, missing Jameer Nelson, showed in the loss of the Magic’s late 18 point lead against a young and talented Sixers team (Andre Igoudala could be the next Kobe). The Rocket’s dismantling of Portland showed their potential playoff power against a team desperate for playoff experience. Also this series will depict the raw but still far undeveloped Greg Oden as well as one of the league’s best two way players Brandon Roy. The D Wade’s showed that their “team” goes at he goes and without an amazing performance they can’t succeed (especially against a hungry and talented young Atlanta squad). The Spurs-Mavs series proved to be even less relevant with the dismissal of a veteran Spurs team. Denver’s win at home, although impressive, was expected seeing the Hornet’s are obviously hobbled.
As the playoffs progress the Lakers and Cavs will continue to distinguish themselves from the rest of the league competing only with each other on how badly they beat upon their opponents. The Celtics, Nuggets, Magic, Hawks, Trailblazers, and Spurs will win their respective series, with the higher seed progressing in the Conference Semi-finals. Lebron will become increasingly productive as the playoffs go on while Kobe’s Lakers will simply keep him on standby until he is absolutely needed. Both teams will be challenged by their Conference Championship opponent on the road but will remain successful at home where they impose their style of play with no mercy. As an NBA fan I excitedly anticipate this matchup because of the demeanor of both athletes.
