Quick NFL Weekend Preview
Matt on 01 15, 2010
Saturday
Arizona at New Orleans 4:30 PM Fox
I think we’re going to see a repeat of the Arizona/Green Bay game: a shootout. Both teams love to pass the ball, and you can rest assured that they will. The Superdome is a tough place to play with the crowd noise, so we might see some struggles from Warner. Boldin’s questionable, so that should be interesting. My pick: The Saints. Drew Brees seems to be a man on a mission. Apparently, he’s been focused in like a laser beam preparing for this game.
Baltimore at Indianapolis 8:15 PM CBS
With all the injuries the Colts suffered, this two weeks off must’ve helped. Joe Flacco hasn’t really had a great year, and the Colts will probably dare him to beat them. If Ray Rice doesn’t go off, which is very possible, I don’t think the Ravens can score enough points. Peyton Manning is too good. I’ll take the Colts.
Sunday
Dallas at Minnesota 1:00 PM FOX
Favre’s never beaten the Cowboys in the playoffs, so that’s lingering over his head. Percy Harvin just hasn’t been the same player he was the first part of the season, so that’s a big question mark. Dallas defensive line has been playing fantastic, and Romo seems extremely confident. With that said, I’m picking the Vikings. It would be an extreme disappointment for Minnesota if the Vikings are one and done, so I think they get the job done here. Prepare for more shots of Wade Philip’s puzzled looks.
NY Jets at San Diego 4:40 PM CBS
I expect this game to be a laugher. I could see the Chargers rolling here. They’re air attack is explosive, and I don’t think Darrelle Revis will shut down Vincent Jackson, who’s having a spectacular year under the radar. We might see a healthy dose of Antonio Gates. I’ll take the Chargers. The run ends here for the “Sanchize”.
