Rest easy Packer fans, your time for sweet poetic justice is just around the corner

Bide your time Packer fans, bide your time. That’s all that can be done. I know how this feels; it’s like a knife in the gut, an F on a test, or finding that your girlfriend is cheating. But unlike those experiences the Packers still have the upper hand. Do not be a prisoner of the moment, look forward, and for a little perspective look back.
Yes Favre was very good this weekend, and has been good all season, but in the end if the Vikings don’t win the Super Bowl they will be runners up just like everyone else, with nothing to show for signing that traitorous scoundrel.
Keep in mind Vikings’ fans who are already wetting their pants in glee, that Favre only won one Super Bowl for the Packers in 17 years, and don’t forget that your team has never won a Super Bowl. Keep in mind that the difference between the Packers and Vikings is not the quarterback (as of today Aaron Rodgers is the top rated passer in the entire league).

The Vikings have a better offensive line, running back, and defensive line, but in terms of the quarterback position they are much worse off than the Packers. Rodgers is already playing at an MVP level and should continue to do so for ten more years, Vikings fans have to be concerned about Favre making it to the end of this season.
So the Packers traded a 40 year old quarterback for a 25 year old better quarterback, not a bad deal, huh? I know that this loss stings now for Packer nation but believe me when I say the Vikings will be feeling the sting of Aaron Rodgers for the next decade, when Favre retires and the Sage vs. Tavaris debate arises again.
So now the question is, can Favre win a Super Bowl, and further twist the knife into Packer fans hearts? Answer, simply no. While the Vikes have been dominant thus far we all saw what happened when they played a veteran, tough, and pressure oriented defense in the Steelers. The Saints would give the Vikings’ secondary far more problems than they are equipped to handle, The Eagles look very explosive, and don’t count out the Giants either.
If the Vikings do somehow make the Super Bowl they will likely face off against the Patriots, Colts, or Steelers. Is anybody really going to bet on Favre over Manning, Brady, or Big Ben in the big game? If they did they must not have watched Favre all those years for the Packers. They must have missed the 6 interception performance against the Rams in the playoffs, the Hail Mary strike he threw to Brian Dawkins to lose in the divisional round to the Eagles, or the errant I’m cold and old interception he threw against the Giants in the NFC Championship.
The media will have you believe Favre is a clutch performer, but Packer fans know different. If Favre was clutch there would be at least three Super Bowl trophies from his era in Green Bay. When the going gets tough, and the Vikings play more complete and experienced teams, Favre will crumble, not because he’s old, but because that’s who he is.
