Ten things that need to happen this decade in the world of sports

With the dropping off the ball at 12 AM on Friday morning, we said goodbye to a memorable sports decade and began a new one. What do you want to be reminiscing about 10 years from now? Here’s a list of 10 things I feel need to happen/are inevitable this decade (in no specific order):

The MLB desperately needs to put a salary cap into practice
I think this is long overdue. Who wants to watch teams simply buy championships? I don’t, and I will continue to avoid the MLB for this reason.

David Stern needs to go
I don’t care how he’s rid of, but it needs to happen. He’s a sleazy, greasy dude. It’s in the NBA’s best interest to see Stern go.

Brett Favre needs to retire
It might seem outrageous that Favre retiring is on my list of things that need to happen this decade, but I’m not joking. After watching the Favre soap opera the last few years, I’m convinced the guy might play ‘til he’s 60.

C’mon, we all know Rachel Nichols gets bent over. I want to see it.

LeBron James needs to win at least 3 rings
If The King wants to go down as the best ever, he needs his rings. LBJ should have at least 10 good years left, and I feel he needs at least 3 rings to go down as the best.

The NCAA needs to implement a football playoff
I’m tired of the BCS system and all these BCS-buster teams. To think some people believed Cincinnati should’ve played in the National Championship game. The solution to all the skepticism as to whether the BCS got it right is a playoff. Make it happen.

Gus Johnson needs to be assigned to do play-by-play for every big game
I watch games just to hear Gus Johnson’s life-or-death play-calling. In case you’re not familiar:

The Skip Bayless era needs to come to an abrupt halt
Nothing makes my blood boil more than listening to this asshole talk sports. Skip Bayless should be flipping burgers.
